Hope
for African Girls Initiative was developed out of the strong desire to help
African girls discover their true self-identity and place in the society they
belong. First, we want girls to see the great potential that God has placed
within them, that every child is significant in this crowded society we live
in. We also desire to use education to build a generation of young creative
thinkers and innovators who are passionate about applying their knowledge and
skills for the uplift of Africa, starting with their own communities. This is
why we focus on educating and empowering the girl child with the aim of
enhancing their values through campaigns and raising awareness, so that they
will not only learn to read and write but also acquire new skills that can help
them become competent leaders. Hence we visit community schools or bring the
learners together to teach and empower them. We work with girls from
marginalised/economically disadvantaged communities because they are the ones
often neglected.
